Hal and Melanie Young, authors of the book Raising Real Men and the heart behind Great Waters Press, are busy parents to six boys and two girls and an encouraging voice in the homeschooling world. With several successful books published under Great Waters Press, A Cry from Egypt is one of their new projects- and already a successful venture.
A Cry from Egypt was both historically accurate and amazingly inspiring to both of our young children. The action scenes described in this book kept my 10 year old warrior boy on the edge of his seat and the sweet perspective of a young slave girl brought my 8 year old tenderhearted daughter to tears several times. This mama was truly satisfied with this book for several reasons- the knowledge my children gained in biblical history, the sparks of righteous indignation I saw spring forth in their hearts, and the FUN we had reading this book as a family.
Hope Auer, a recent homeschool graduate and aspiring writer is the voice behind A Cry from Egypt. Having written stories and plays for years, her first published work came from her desire for young people to have an accurate perception of biblical history. Her quest to find true, inspiring christian fiction for herself at a young age, drove her passion for writing A Cry from Egypt and the additional books coming in her “The Promised Land Series”. In addition to writing, Hope can be found working with children in youth theater and teaching piano.
