Homeschool Curriculum Choices- 12th Grade

2018-2019 Curriculum Choices, Homeschooling

12th grade curriculumChoosing the right 12th grade homeschool curriculum can be challenging for sure!  Once you reach the high school years, things can get complicated.  Hopefully these suggestions will help you make good choices for your 12th grade students.

Below you will find our top choices for 12th grade Homeschool Curriculum.

Here are our 2018-2019 12th Grade Homeschool Curriculum choices:

Math-

  • Teaching Textbooks- Pre-Calculus

We are continuing to use Teaching Textbooks through high school.  They have been a top choice for years and they seem to work well for us.  We have chosen to try the 3.0 version which is all online and this mama is super happy not having all those discs to keep up with.

English-

  • The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts, High School Levels

We are big fans of TGTB as a whole.  This is the first year jumping into the high school level language arts curriculum and so far we are very much enjoying the independent learning style.  The curriculum is very thorough and includes literature study, grammer and spelling, and art appreciation.

History-

  • AOP Lifepacs- Government and Economics
  • The Good and The Beautiful Government and Economics
  • Mystery of History- All Levels

We will be choosing between AOP Lifepacs and The Good and The Beautiful for our Government and Economics curriculum.  There are benefits to each, so we are really on the fence right now.  All of our students will be listening in on our Mystery of History readings as well.

Science-

  • DIVE Science- Physics 2

We decided to go with DIVE science for both of our high school students this year, again because of the self-directed learning aspect.  We are wanting them to take more responsibility for their work and these classes are seeming to do that well.  They also offer online lab studies, so you are not required to purchase all the lab materials, which works very well for us.

Spanish-

  • Rosetta Stone Homeschool Edition

Electives-

  • Health & Speech
  • Business Computer Info
  • Computer Science
  • Logic
  • Foundations in Personal Finance
  • One Year Adventure Novel
  • SAT/ACT Prep

These are some options that we are considering for high school electives.  There is such a great array of choices- it’s hard to narrow them down.

Be sure to check out our Top Curriculum Choices for the year!

We’re excited to kick this school year off and dive into these fantastic resources.  What are your picks for curriculum this year?  Share with us in the comments below.

These are great resources for homeschooling a 12th grader. I think it is such a wonderful thing when a parent can homeschool. Kids that have to be in school seem to be overloaded these days and do not always succeed like a child that has been properly homeschooled.

This looks like such a great curriculum! The electives are all wonderful, but I think Foundations in Personal Finance sounds like information everyone could use.

Homeschooling will always be difficult at first, when you really know nothing about this. But, having useful list of resources such as this will help a lot. This is a very informative post.

I didn’t know Rosetta Stone had a homeschool edition. My older son wants to learn French after he finishes ASL and that would be perfect for him.

We love using @bitsboxkids as part of our homescho We love using @bitsboxkids as part of our homeschool computer science curriculum.
BitsBox teaches kids how to code by sending app projects in the mail every month.

For my technology loving son, this is a great way to incorporate his interests into his school day. The best part is that BitsBox provides all the instruction and guidance needed to customize his apps completely independently. That provides a hands-off experience for me and boosts his confidence in his coding abilities.

With technology being such an important part of our lives today, not only is BitsBox providing a fun and engaging experience, but also teaching essential skills for future career opportunities.

We are so happy to be we including BitsBox in our homeschool computer science curriculum.
